Rome to Pompeii and Naples by High-Speed Train: Guided Day Trip with Pizza Lunch
The train does the long haul, so the day skips the long road trip: a high-speed train from Rome Termini reaches Naples in about 1 hour 10 minutes, where a guide takes over and a private coach covers the rest. The group meets a representative at Termini and is helped onto the train.
Pompeii gets a 2-hour guided tour with skip-the-line tickets, along cobbled streets past bakeries, shops, homes and public baths, to the plaster casts of the victims. Lunch is at a historic pizzeria in Pompeii.
The afternoon returns to Naples for a guided tour with a local guide, a viewpoint over the Bay of Naples from Posillipo with Vesuvius in the distance, and free time before the high-speed train back to Rome. Entry inside Naples monuments is not included.
