The day starts early: departure from the Rome meeting point is at 06:45, with a breakfast stop on the way south. The vehicle is a car, SUV or van depending on group size, and the operator, a team of about 20 guides, drivers and local experts, has been running the trip since 2016.
Pompeii comes first, with a guided tour of about two and a half hours led by a licensed guide. From there the road goes to the town of Amalfi on the Amalfi Coast, where the driver or guide points out the main sights, where to walk, where to eat, where the beach is and how to catch a boat. Guests then get 3.5 hours of free time to spend as they like.
The return to Rome is around 21:00, so it is a long day. Lunch is not included and is left to each guest's taste.
