Semi-Private Pompeii and Vesuvius Tour from Positano with 2-Hour Archaeologist Walk
This is a semi-private day out: pickup at the accommodation in Positano, an air-conditioned vehicle for the road, and a return to the same door. Bookings take up to 14 travelers and the guiding is in English.
Pompeii gets a two-hour small group walk led by an archaeologist through the western part of the city. The route takes in the Basilica, the Forum, the baths, a bakery and some residential houses, which gives a picture of ordinary life before the eruption of AD 79.
The vehicle then climbs Vesuvius to the square at 1,000 m above sea level. From there the path called the Gran Cono leads to the crater, with the Gulf of Naples in view. Entry tickets for Pompeii and Vesuvius are included, lunch is not.
