Pompeii and Vesuvius Bus Day Trip from Naples with Light Lunch and Torre del Greco Ascent

Pompeii comes first on this bus excursion, Vesuvius second. Pickup is at a hotel in Naples, the train station or the marina, at the indicated time, and the drive to the ruins takes about 40 minutes. The whole trip lasts seven to eight hours.

The ruins are visited with a guide. Pompeii was buried in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on August 24, 79 AD, and the buildings excavated since the 18th century include the forum, the baths, the theatre and the Roman brothel with its erotic paintings. A light lunch with soft drinks or water follows the visit.

The bus then goes to Torre del Greco, where the climb up Vesuvius starts. From the top the view takes in the Bay of Naples. A guide speaks on the bus, while on the mountain the park guides take over and an English-speaking one is not guaranteed. Port pickup is only for cruise ship passengers.
