Pompeii and Vesuvius Day Trip from Positano with Hotel Pickup and Tickets Included
Hotel pickup in Positano at 8:00 and a drop-off at the same hotel at the end make this a seven-hour day with no navigating on the traveler's side. Entrance tickets to both Pompeii and the Vesuvius National Park are included, along with a guide for the ruins and an air-conditioned vehicle with WiFi on board.
Pompeii comes first. The city was inhabited from around the 9th century BC and was buried in 79 AD under about six meters of ash and lapilli, and the guide walks the group through the excavated finds. The vehicle then climbs to Vesuvius, the volcano behind it all, for time in the national park around the Somma-Vesuvio complex.
The guide covers Pompeii only. The Vesuvius stop is for exploring the park, without a dedicated guide.
