Two guides, one for each half of the day. An archaeologist leads the visit to Pompeii, and an alpine guide takes over at Mount Vesuvius for the climb to the crater. A minibus handles both transfers, with hotel or meeting-point pickup and drop-off in Sorrento, and entrance tickets for Pompeii and the Vesuvius National Park are included.

In Pompeii the route passes the Forum, the Capitolium, the Macellum, the Theatre and the Lupanar, the town's brothel. The minibus then climbs to the entrance of Vesuvius at 1,000 meters. The crater walk ends with free time at the top for the view over the Gulf of Naples.

The group is back in Sorrento early in the afternoon, though traffic can shift the timing. If bad weather closes Vesuvius, a partial refund is given. Lunch is not part of the day, but a lunch option can be booked in advance on certain days of the week.
