Three sites in a single private day, travelling by Mercedes minivan or car with air conditioning and an English-speaking driver. The route runs from the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum to the crater rim of Mount Vesuvius, and the vehicle covers tolls, taxes and fuel.

At Vesuvius the car stops at about 3,200 feet and the rest of the way to the top is on foot, to look into the crater, where fumes can sometimes be seen. Pompeii and Herculaneum get about two hours each. Entrance tickets are not included, and a professional guide for Pompeii and Herculaneum can be added on request.
