An archaeology day for a private party, with the minivan and driver kept for the whole day. Pickup is at the accommodation, airport or train station in Naples, Salerno or on the Amalfi coast, which also makes it a fit for cruise passengers arriving at those ports.

The morning belongs to Pompeii. A local archaeological guide leads a walking tour of about two hours, entering by the main gate, Porta Marina, with skip-the-line admission already paid. After the ruins comes an optional lunch at a typical restaurant on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius or in Pompeii, then the climb to the crater, where a faint smoke still rises and the view reaches Capri, Ischia and the Sorrento coast.

The last 500 meters of the Vesuvius path are a steep uphill walk and closed shoes are essential. The path is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. The itinerary can change slightly if a site closes or gets overcrowded.
