Naples Cruise Port Pompeii Tour with Archaeologist Guide and Skip-the-Line Entry
A licensed archaeologist leads this 2.5-hour walk through Pompeii, with commentary in English or Spanish. Entry is skip-the-line and headsets are included, so the guide can be heard in a large group. Coach pickup and drop-off at the Port of Naples are included; it is also possible to meet at Pompeii itself.
The route starts at Porta Marina Inferiore and goes through the Forum and the Basilica, the Temple of Apollo and the ancient granaries, then a thermopolium, the Roman equivalent of a snack bar. It continues to the public baths, the House of the Faun and the Lupanar, and ends with the plaster casts of victims of the eruption of Vesuvius.
The operator also offers live translation of the guide's voice into the traveller's own language through AI technology. Moderate fitness is needed, and the tour is not suitable for people with mobility impairments.
