Pompeii comes with a licensed local guide, so the history is explained on the spot rather than read from a panel. After the ruins the driver heads for the coast: Positano and the Amalfi Coast, or Sorrento, for panoramas, colourful old towns and local food. Which of Pompeii or the coast comes first depends on the weather, the crowds and the schedule, and the driver decides on the day.
Lunch and gratuities are not included, and a valid passport is needed on the day.
