A deluxe air-conditioned Mercedes with an English-speaking driver, who also acts as guide, runs this private day from Salerno. The coast is driven from the Salerno end, through Vietri sul Mare and Maiori to Amalfi, then past Furore and Praiano to Positano, and the day finishes at Pompeii. Tolls, parking, fuel and taxes are all covered.
Amalfi and Positano each get free time. The smaller villages on the way are passed with stops for photos. Pickup is at your location, and the details are shared in advance because pickup is part of the price.
Pompeii needs some planning. The archaeological guide is not part of the tour and can be hired on site, the entrance time should be agreed with the operator's office before tickets are bought, and an ID card is required to enter the site.

Pompeii was buried by ash and pumice in the 79 AD eruption of Vesuvius, which preserved its houses, shops, temples, theaters, a brothel, frescoes, mosaics and statues. The forum was the social and political center, with the remains of the Basilica and the Temple of Jupiter.
