Pompeii Express Tour by Circumvesuviana Train from Sorrento with Entry Ticket
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
SorrentoThis version of Pompeii travels by local train instead of road. A guide and an assistant meet the group at Sorrento station, hand out the return train tickets, and the ride to Pompeii takes about 45 minutes. The entrance fee is already in the price, so there is no ticket to buy on arrival, and bookings are accepted up to the last minute.
The guided part lasts 2 hours and covers the main public monuments and some of the best-known houses in the ruins. Listening devices are handed out at the Sorrento starting point and go back to the guide at the end. Afterwards the group can follow the guide to the train and leave together, or stay on in Pompeii, since the return ticket is valid all day. Leaving the site and coming back means paying for a new entry.
Transfers to and from accommodation are not part of this tour, and it is not suited to cruise passengers because of the train timetable.
