Pompeii Archaeologist Tour and Amalfi Coast Day Trip from Rome, Early Entry
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
RomeEarly entry sets this Rome day trip apart: the walk through Pompeii with an archaeologist guide starts before the daytime crowds arrive. The guided group is capped at 18 people, though the transport can be shared by two groups, 36 guests in all. The day starts at Piazzale Flaminio in Rome, with no hotel pickup, and the road is covered by air-conditioned minibus.
The walk takes in shops, temples, the House of the Vettii, the brothel and the death casts. The Amalfi Coast comes afterwards, driven straight through to Positano from April to October, where there are a few hours of free time and the guide's tips on where to eat and shop.
Season changes the last stop. From November to March most businesses in Positano close, so the group visits Sorrento instead, which has plenty of choice for lunch and shopping.
