Pompeii and Herculaneum Small Group Day Trip with Archaeologist from Naples
One archaeologist, two excavated cities and a group capped at 20. The day starts at Naples Central Station, where the guide and the Askos Tours driver wait at the Starhotels Terminus in Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, and a minibus carries the group to the ruins.
At Pompeii the walk begins at the Porta Marina entrance and moves through the Forum, public buildings, shops and private houses, with stops at the Basilica, the Stabian Baths, Via dell’Abbondanza, the Lupanar, the House of the Faun and the Great Theatre. At Herculaneum the same guide leads the group past the streets, houses, baths, frescoes and mosaics left by the eruption of AD 79, including the House of the Deer, the College of the Augustales and the Central Thermae.
There is no hotel pickup, so the starting point is the station square. A short break at the Maximall Pompeii shopping centre is built into the day, and the minibus drives back to Naples at the end.
