Naples Cruise Shore Excursion to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius with Pizza Lunch
Built around a ship's timetable, this day trip takes cruise passengers from the Naples dock to Pompeii in the morning and up Mount Vesuvius in the afternoon. At Pompeii the guide skips the ticket line and leads a walking tour of about two hours past the Forum, the thermal baths, the lupanare, the Greek theatre and the plaster casts of the bodies. Pizza lunch with a drink follows, after free time among the shops. A 40-minute coach ride then reaches Vesuvius, where a moderate hike climbs to the summit at 1,200 meters (3,900 feet). From the rim, travelers look into the crater and see steam rising from the still-active volcano. A rest point lets anyone who prefers not to climb to the top wait for the group.
The coach carries up to 50 people. For the Vesuvius part, English is always guaranteed among the four available languages.

Archaeological Park of Pompeii
After pickup at the cruise dock, a 30-minute drive leads to Pompeii, the Roman city destroyed by the eruption of AD 79 and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guide skips the line to buy the tickets and leads a 2-hour walk through the Forum, thermal baths, lupanare, Greek theatre and the plaster casts of the bodies, shapes that remained under volcanic ash and pumice.

Vesuvius National Park
After free time in the shops and a pizza lunch with the group, a 40-minute coach ride reaches Mt Vesuvius. A moderate hike with the guide climbs to the summit at 1,200 meters (3,900 feet), with views of the Bay of Naples and steam rising from the crater. A rest point is available for those who do not climb to the top. The coach returns to Naples in the late afternoon.
