Pompeii Late-Afternoon Walking Tour After the Crowds, Starting at the Amphitheater Gate
Timing is the point of this tour. It runs in the afternoon, once the crowds have left the site, when the light is good for photos, the park is almost empty and the midday heat is gone.
The two-hour walk starts at the Amphitheater gate, one of the three gates of Pompeii, and ends at Piazza Porta Marina, so it crosses the city from one side to the other. Stops include the Gymnasium, the Amphitheater, the Via dell'Abbondanza, a tavern, a thermopolium, a public bath and the Forum.
The guided tour is in English. Entrance tickets are not included and have to be arranged separately.
