Pompeii and Villa of the Mysteries Guided Tour, Tickets Included, 3 Hours

This Pompeii tour ends where many visits never reach: the Villa of the Mysteries. Admission to the ruins and to the villa is covered, and the English-speaking guide takes the route from the city centre out to the villa.

The walk starts at Porta Marina Superiore and runs through the theatre quarter, with the Quadriportico and the Grand Theatre, then along Stabian Street to the Stabian Baths, described as the oldest Roman baths in the world. Next come the Lupanar, the ancient brothel with its painted walls, the Macellum market and the House of Menander.

The last stretch is the villa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The group looks at funerary structures and wall designs, at the rooms where wine was produced, and at the frescoes in its various rooms. The terrace gives a view back over Pompeii. The tour lasts about three hours and finishes outside the villa.
