Herculaneum Private Tour with Licensed Guide, 2 Hours, Admission Included
Pompeii gets the attention, but Vesuvius buried a second city a few miles away on the coast. Pyroclastic flows covered Herculaneum under about 80 feet of volcanic material, and the town was destroyed and preserved in the same event. It was a residential town for the upper class, smaller than Pompeii and richer, and the private houses still show their original style and decoration.
This private two-hour tour is led by a guide licensed by Regione Campania, and the admission fee is covered. The visit gives time to compare how the same eruption treated the two cities.
Wheelchair access is available throughout the areas listed for the tour, and the groups are limited to 15 travelers per booking.
