Herculaneum Guided Tour with Entry Ticket and English-Speaking Guide, 2 Hours

The group gathers at the ticket office of the Herculaneum archaeological site, where tickets are handed out before everyone goes in together with an English-speaking guide. The visit lasts two hours and ends near the park exit, after which anyone who wants more time can keep exploring alone.

Herculaneum was buried by the Vesuvius eruption of 79 AD, and the guide uses what survived to explain how its inhabitants lived under the Roman Empire: homes, temples, public baths and taverns, plus the more than 300 skeletons of people who died in the eruption. Colored frescoes still cover some of the walls.

The route passes the seat of the Augustan Priests, where Emperor Augustus was worshipped, then the Forum, a bakery and the mosaic in the House of Neptune and Amphitrite. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
