Private Guided Tour of the Royal Palace of Caserta with an Art Expert
An art expert guides this private visit to the Reggia di Caserta, with the focus on the royal apartments. Luigi Vanvitelli designed the palace in the 18th century for King Charles of Bourbon, who wanted a new administrative center for the Kingdom of Naples and took Versailles as his model.
The visit begins in the Old Apartment, where Ferdinand IV and Maria Carolina lived and where court artists painted many of the rooms. It continues to the New Apartment and its throne room, the hall in which the king received delegations and ambassadors.
The park is not part of the standard route. It can be added on request, which brings in the fountains of the Italian Garden and the romantic English Garden. Entrance tickets are not included.
