Paestum Small Group Tour with an Archaeologist: Doric Temples and Museum
A licensed archaeologist leads this two-hour walk through Paestum, and skip-the-line tickets are arranged for the small group, so the time goes to the site rather than the queue.
The route covers the three Doric temples, the amphitheater, the forum and the markets of a city that Greek colonists founded as Poseidonia and that grew into the leading city of Magna Graecia. It then continues to the National Archaeological Museum, where the best-known pieces are the frescoes from the Tomb of the Diver.
Paestum lies in the northern part of the Cilento, close to the Sele River on the Tyrrhenian coast, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
